Georg Friedrich Adolph Schöner

(1774 Mannsbach near Hersfeld – 1841 Bremen)

The portrait painter and lithographer Georg Schöner had studied under Anton Graff in Dresden in 1795/96. From November 1800 to May 1802 Schöner was active in Berlin, where he achieved prominence as a portrait painter, his sitters including Henriette Herz. Between 1816 and 1818 the artist produced two prints that belong to the incunabula of German lithography.
