In the lower left frame signed: "Desprez" and at the lower center titled "Chateau St Ange avec la Girandole a Rome" (both inscriptions somewhat faded); inscribed at lower right (in Piranesi's hand?): "Ce vend chez M. Francois Piranesi a Rome"and, on the verso, numbered in pen and brown ink in a contemporary hand "No 1." Ca 1783. Wollin 3 I (of III).
